About me

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that with every client I meet, every shot I take, every gallery I deliver, I feel immensely fortunate to be able to do what I absolutely LOVE for my job, and if you’re thinking of working with me, I hope you’ll find that my passion shines through in every interaction I have with you.

Whether I’m photographing hundreds of employees for a business, taking creative headshots for actors and models or capturing the energy and love during a family shoot, my main driving force is that I love meeting people and I love helping my clients find their confidence through a session with me. The results are beautiful, timeless images that you can treasure forever.

My interest in photography was first piqued at school, where I practised film photography and learnt how to develop my images in a darkroom. Recognising my love of photography, my parents bought me my first Nikon SLR at the age of 16 and since then I've rarely been without a camera. The early years of my career were spent in advertising and publishing in London but I continued taking photographs in my spare time and built my experience by assisting professional photographers, capturing important occasions for friends and family and taking courses to expand my knowledge of techniques and style. 

It was when I had our two beautiful children and our family moved to Dubai, UAE, to start an exciting new adventure that I realised that photographing people and capturing the way they engage with each other was what I wanted to do professionally. It was time to turn my long held dream into a reality. I launched my website and my professional career as a photographer.

Since our return to the UK in 2018, I’ve been lucky enough to photograph a multitude of gorgeous families, delivered thousands of personal branding images for local businesses, undertaken large scale corporate headshots, actor and model portraits, fine art portraits as well as corporate commissions for businesses based in London, Surrey and further afield. I’ve also been able to showcase and sell my landscape photography to collectors around the world, through my Etsy site - ImagesbyJDP.

I’m proud that my work is award winning (Positive Portrait Competition, 2020), has been featured in the national media (Country Life magazine, Brides magazine) as well as on instagram for brands including Cheap Flights and Jumeirah Hotels. My work has also been chosen as the front cover of a novel, Sifting Sands, by the author, Caroline Meech.
